About Barry

Barry Duffin Born in South Norfolk and educated locally, Barry has lived in and around the village of Ashwellthorpe for over forty years, recently moving a few miles away towards Wymondham. He has been married to Pam for 45 years and together they have a daughter Kate and two beautiful grandchildren.

Barry is a real community champion and has served on the Ashwellthorpe and Fundenhall Parish Council for over 25 years and has also served as Chairman of the Parish Council in that time. Barry is an experienced Councillor who until recently played a significant role in the Norfolk Rural Community Council, known as Community Action Norfolk [CAN], representing Parish and Town Council throughout the whole County. He is a new director of Saffron Housing where he ensures that the needs of tenants of homes right across South Norfolk and beyond are attended to promptly.

Barry says “I consider myself to be a real family man. South Norfolk is a wonderful area in which to raise a family and to set down strong roots. I am proud that several generations of my family have all lived and worked locally and all have contributed in some way to making our District one of the best places to live in the Country that it is today.”

Barry has the enthusiasm, energy and commitment required to be a district councillor. He cares about people and knows his local area well and will be an effective community champion for local people.

He says “Local people need someone to stand up for them on the local Council and, if elected, I hope to be in a position to get things sorted for local people in local villages.” “I derive a great deal of personal satisfaction from helping those who come to me to solve their problems and I hope that you will support me at the polls on May 2nd.
